What are the different ways to give to GT?
You can give by cash or cheque in a giving envelope provided on Sunday (or in the Church Office during the week), as well as debit or credit at the Info Desk on Sunday. You can also give through text or online at any time, or set up pre-authorized debit giving through your bank account.
What information is needed on a GT giving envelope?
The first time you give, please fill out all fields on the envelope, including the initial of your middle name (your address will be used to send you a tax receipt at the end of the year). After your initial giving, unless your address has changed, you only need to put your name or your designated giving number, if known.
You can email us at any time to update your address.
Please use your envelopes for your cash, cheque or debit donations. If you give online, we will track your donation through your name and you will be receipted that way.
How will I be receipted for online or text donations?
All giving, including online and text donations, are tracked by the church and you will receive a year-end tax receipt. This receipt will include any amounts given through cash, cheque, debit, Tithe.ly or Rotessa - all as one donation amount. Please ensure that you use your legal name accross all giving platforms.
How safe are your online giving services?
We take security very seriously. Bank-level encryption is used when transmitting your credit card data to a secure processor, and sensitive credit card information never enters our database. It's transmitted directly from your computer or mobile device to the payment processor.
Can I designate my giving to a particular cause within the church (eg. Missions)?
When using Tithe.ly (church App or via Text), you will be prompted to choose one of three funds (Tithes & Offerings, Building, or Kingdom Builders) when you give. With Rotessa, you can let us know if you would like to designate your donation by using the comment field.
Spending of funds is confined to GT approved programs and projects. Each contribution directed toward an approved program or project will be used as restricted with the understanding that when the need for such a program or project has been met, or cannot be completed for any reason as determined by GT, the remaining restricted contributions will be used where most needed.
What is "Kingdom Builders"?
We're so glad you asked! Please head on over to our Kingdom Builders page for more information.
Are there extra fees for using online giving?
No extra fees are paid by the donor. For any credit card giving, the church pays a small percentage fee (under 3%) to the company that collects the money. So the amount of each donation that the church receives will be reduced by that amount. The donor, however, will still be receipted for the entire amount given. On the church App, you can choose to cover the fee.
